Dream on: My Christmas wish list
What's topping your Christmas wish list this year? Is it too early to blog about this? Should I wait until at least the Friday after Thanksgiving?
The reason I ask is because I've been thinking about my Christmas list for a while. If you turn to page 127 of December's Lucky Magazine and you'll find a short little list I wrote of three things I'd like for Christmas:

It'd be a Christmas miracle if I got any of these!What you don't know in the world of magazine publishing is that I actually had to submit a longer list of seven way back at the beginning of September. The magazine editors chose which three to run. Since I've been thinking about these things for over two months already, I thought you might enjoy my complete list and commentary. Isn't it interesting to see how edits are done?
1. Kendra Scott Harlow Statement Necklace- Kendra Scott, $195
Statement necklaces are all the rage, and this Kendra Scott Harlow necklace is a show stopper. Available in eight different colors and made of brass and 14k gold, this Austin-based designer has become a fixture on Hollywood's red carpets. I'd pair this with a silk scoop necked blouse, a simple skirt, and stacked heels, and welcome the compliments as they commence.
2. Orange Fluro bag- Cambridge Satchel, $140
I want a bag that says "look at me" without the duck and run price tag. This bright orange Fluro Cambridge Satchel is just that. Versatile enough to be used as a laptop bag or an eye-catchingday-to-day purse, this bag pops against my somewhat winter neutral wardrobe but would look just as amazing as a component in my forays into color blocking.

3. Fuji Instax 50S Piano Black- Lomography, $250
Let's face it: no one ever prints their digital photos anymore and instant photos guarantee tangible photographic evidence of all the holiday parties I get to attend. Credit card sized photos develop in under 60 seconds but the nostalgia factor lasts forever. Armed with this little beauty and a couple packets of Fuji Instax film, a few of these photos left behind for the party hosts would be a sweet token of appreciation.
4. Vegan Suede Flares- Free People, $148
It's time to give my boring black dress pants a rest. I have my eye on these vegan "suede" flares, instead. I'd pair these with a hip length sweater and winter wedges for a casual look one day, then amp it up with a double breasted blazer and stilettos the next.
5. Pom Pom Flower- Ban.do, $15
It's a pin! It's a hair clip! It's both and it's fabulous. Ban.do's pom poms come in eight different colors and at just $15 I hope that several end up in my Christmas stocking. Affixed to the back of my top knot or on the lapel of my favorite blazer, this versatile silk flower provides the perfect amount of whimsey for a winter day.
6. Black Honey Almost Lipstick- Clinique, $14.50
Universally flattering and red enough for a party but sheer enough for day, I swear by this lip color. I discovered it in college and haven't looked for another shade since.
7. Dark Peacock Blazer- American Apparel, $85.00
I love American Apparel blazers because they're cut well and the fabric has a rich sheen. I'm digging this dark peacock blazer because it's a cool blue alternative to the typical navy I tend to buy. I'd wear this with a pair of bright yellow ankle length trousers and a cream button down shirt for a brighter, downtown preppy/ casual look.
