Aside from acting, writing is my greatest passion.

Current projects:

Since college and relocating to Austin, Texas, two of my short scripts have been picked up for production. The first one is a family drama called “The Listmaker”, winner of the 2007 Reel Women screenplay competition. It is currently in production and is being directed by award-winning director Sophia Von Wrangell. The second is a comedy called “Loving Linus”, which will be produced and directed by Alliance President Van Brooks.

How did it all begin?

At age 10, my cousin Ryan and I wrote and produced “Snoopy News”, our very own sketch comedy/ news show that we recorded in our grandparents’ garage. I’m 98% sure that “The Daily Show” cribbed our original show format.

After that I started writing for the school paper and continued to do so through high school.

I honestly thought that I was going to be an entertainment journalist. I thought this very seriously up until the summer after my junior year of high school. It was then that my town’s local newspaper, The Seymour Tribune, sent me to Indiana University for a summer journalism camp. I hated it. I hated the short deadlines, I hated being told what to write, and I hated being told an exact word length. Although I won an award for my reporting, I learned that I didn’t want to be a newspaper or magazine journalist anymore. I wanted to come up with my own ideas and set my own deadlines. I had an epiphany and realized that I could combine my love of writing and acting into a screenwriting major and career.

Where do you write?

Like Po Bronson, I write in a closet. It’s a tiny little utility closet under the stairs of my house. I like to call it my “Harry Potter office”. I feel creative, focused, and comfortable in small spaces. Maybe it reminds me of my childhood. Weird fact: I used to sleep in my closet on top of my toy box.

What’s on tap?

I am constantly working on new projects. I am seeking producing partners and production companies to help make the following:

  • “Walking Millionaire”: a short dramedy about the monotonous life of a young actuary
  • “Parlez Vous Sioux”: a feature length Native American drama
  • “504 Marley Lane”: a web series cartoon based on my unconventional childhood
  • “Convention”: a PBS style television series
  • an untitled sitcom pilot about five friends after college
  • “Seymour, Indiana” (my pet project): a feature length drama about a small town’s dying patriarch
  • an adaptation of a historical, French novel.
