Confessions from a STICKER HATER

After seeing the disaster that was my DIY Calm Down Jars, my sweet friend Melanie who I went to high school with, messaged me the following suggestion:

From one momma of three to another... STICKERS. Invest in large amounts of any kind of sticker and plain paper or coloring books. Just give them all the above and let them have it... Keeps them quiet and busy for as long as toddlers and preschoolers can be kept quiet and busy... works every time.
— Melanie, friend from high school via FB

Imagine her surprise when I sent back a full on tirade:

Stickers?! STICKERS????! Did you suggest stickers?! Melanie, I’m going to be frank with you because we went to high school together and prom and dance camp and you’ve probably seen me in my underwear at some point (point being we’re on THAT LEVEL, you know?) but STICKERS ARE FROM THE DEVIL. Stickers are just a grade below glitter, but only a marginal grade. I once gave my kids stickers ONCE... ONCE... ONE TIME... and I AM STILL FINDING THESE STICKERS IN HIDDEN PLACES ALL OVER MY HOUSE. There’s GOT to be a better alternative than STICKERS. FOR THE LOVE OF THE GOOD LORD.

But then, also this, okay? :

And also, Melanie, it’s clear your children are much better behaved than mine [*insert smiley emoji*].

Anyone else hate stickers? Surely I can't be the only one.

In any regard, I'm so glad I could get this out there! It's a weight lifted off my shoulders! I couldn't write this kind of drivel on Adored Austin because stickers are NOT ADORED. Welcome to my new website, people. A place where style posts are few and far between but Facebook conversations between me and my high school contacts are aplenty. Also, please put you hands together and welcome this new feature to my blahwg: THINGS KIDS LOVE THAT I DO NOT LIKE AT ALL.
